Updated Raffle Method

I received an email with an alternate suggestion on how to work the raffle.  I found the logic sound and intend to use the method suggested instead.

"Quick piece of feedback for the raffle.

Since, as you mentioned, some people will be playing large 3 hour euros and others 30 minute casual games. Would it be more fare to just put each person's name in the bucket when they arrive and then when you do the drawing you draw x names and then they get a prize but need to be present to win. Then you put them back into the bucket.

That way the longer you stay and participate the more raffles you are in, instead of who can marathon the most games?

Just a thought to make it even for everyone and encourage people to play what ever they want and not feel like they need to optimize their play time for the most drawings.

It's also easier for you and the staff because you don't have to worry about people forgetting to put their name in or cheating and putting in to many or more importantly managing every game's players as each game ends.

It's a simple drawing and you need to be present to win and after each drawing the pot resets and everyone is back in the drawing."

This seems fair, better for the deep euro games and easier to implement.  This is now how we will implement the raffle.

When you register at the registration or pick up your badge, we will drop a slip with your name on it in the raffle bucket.  Throughout the day we will pull winners out and tape them to the side of the bucket.  Stop by and point out your ticket to claim a raffle prize of your choosing from those available.

Bezier Games is Sponsoring Dinner on Saturday

As you may know from the last post, the total budget per day for snacks/food is about $100.

Saturday night, Ted and Toni Alspach of Bezier Games are sponsoring dinner.

We are going to have something that comes in a similar shape to a Bezier curve, pizza.

One of the volunteers and myself will make a Costco Pizza run powered by advanced math, french words and the treasury of Bezier's secret fortress . . .

Please thank Ted and Toni in person for their support of Unpub Protospiel and your stomach.  You can even show that you really care by pronouncing Bezier correctly.

Tasty Minstrel Games is sponsoring Lunch on Saturday

Greetings,

If you have looked over the Q and A you know that Unpub Protospiel is on a tight budget.  The game designers pay $40 each for a badge, $20 goes to Game Kastle to rent their space and $20 is left to cover everything else.  For example, $200 went to pay shipping for raffle prizes, $50 for badge materials, and $150 for the game design contest kits ($100 was covered by Franklin Kenter).

That leaves a budget of about $100 a day for snacks/food.  Our deal with Game Kastle is that all snacks will be purchased through them (that is only fair) but game companies are allowed to sponsor outside food.

Seth Jaffee of Tasty Minstrel Games has agreed to provide Lunch on Saturday.  We will be having Tasty Minstrel Sandwiches by raiding a nearby Castle (Costco across the street).

Enjoy such wonderful items as:

Lambas bread.

Smoked Minstrel Meat.

The finest goat cheddar in all the land.

A small selection of greenery. Because even Dragons need to stay regular.

A deeply grateful thank you to Tasty Minstrel Games for their support.  Please Thank Seth when you see him at the event.  Just don't shake his hand if you still have mustard on yours.
